Randell,

Thanks for the reminder that who we are is not the same as what we did. I think if disciplining children -- some people tell the child that they are bad when what they really mean is that the behavior was bad. I guess we are unknowingly saying the same thing to ourselves.

Have a Victorious Day!

Randell,
Something we all need to keep in mind. In some ways, school trains us to associate ourselves and our value to our performance. The challenge with failing, for me, is accepting it for the learning opportunity it is rather than internalizing it.

Have a great week,

Randell...I don't need to add anything to what you already wrote. It's that good! I'll just copy & paste a few of YOUR comments here:

"Failing, and being a failure are not the same thing. We need to understand that we sometimes fail because of something we did, not because of who we are…the 'Who We Are' is best displayed by how we react to our failures. "

Also...

"The first thing you need to do is look in the mirror a say 'I Am Valuable, I am here for a reason, and my Creator didn’t make any junk.'"

Well said, my friend!

Thanks for your feedback Rob and Cam,
There is know doubt that our true legacy will be built by who we are, and not just what we've accomplished.

Thanks for the reminder Randell. Too often it is easier to tie our identity into what our accomplishments are instead of seeing our accomplishments being a trophy on the wall of who we are--who God created us to be.

Thanks for sharing this reminder with us!

I’ve heard set that when we identify ourselves by what we have and what we do, then if we lose what we have or what we do, then who we are also goes away in the process. So is with our mistakes… If we identify ourselves with those mistakes, then we feel like we’re a mistake when it happens… It’s so important to step back and look at your business for what it is, and what it should be; a reflection of YOU… It’s not you… It’s reflection of You… Great post brother!

Thanks Ann,
I love Joyce's way of phrasing that also, "confusing your "who" with your "Do". I completely agree with your thought that failure is when we just give up and stop trying.
We all know that it's not how many times we fall that matters, it's about getting back up again every single time.

Thanks Ann

Randell - beautifully said. Joyce Meyer calls it confusing your "who" with your "do." I have only in the last 15 or 20 years begun to see how much I had always done that and how it really impacted my confidence. You said it well - Being a failure and failing at something are 2 very different things. Personally, I think failure is when we just give up and stop trying.
